3 WAYS TO ADD NEUROSCIENCE TO YOUR STORY
Storytelling is an art. Attracting the right audience is a science.
The idea of storytelling is everywhere.
From bio storytelling to brand messaging storytelling to content marketing - creating an intriguing, shareable, memorable story is a true art.
But just because you have a great story doesn't mean that your audience is listening.
The great things about stories is that we innately love them as human beings, but all humans love stories, not just your audience.
To create a story that attracts your audience, science must be added.
Now when I say “science” I don't mean throwing statistics and facts randomly into your story. When I say “science” I mean adding the lessons that the field of neuroscience is teaching us at a rapid pace.
The Sound Matters.
How do the words sound when said inside your head? How do they sound when they are spoken. The sound and diction pattern matters to how your audience feels about your story and remembers it.
2. Paint A Picture.
The human mind loves adjectives. So use your words to paint your picture while engaging as many senses and memories as possible. The more senses and memories you can engage the more memorable your story will be to your audience.
3. Touch The Needs.
Human needs psychology says we have 6 fundamental human needs: certainty, variety, love, significance, growth, and contribution. Use adjectives that trigger these emotions to create a stronger bond fast. Know the top 3 human needs of your audience group and focus mainly on these and watch your audience attraction skyrocket.
By adding neuroscience to your storytelling you won't just have a great story, but you will have one that your audience relates to and wants to share with others.
